I often feel that these articles approach the subject as “the end goal is child-adult sex and this prepares them for it” https://massresistance.org/docs/info2/fighting-sex-ed.html
Of course they do. They know that is almost guaranteed to get people riled up and support things they might otherwise not.
The fact that most of what they say is false is of little consequence. Their goal is to eliminate LGBT people from society and the end justifies any means.
If you’re on this site, welcome to the most hated people an the planet group!
I can understand most parents NOT wanting their kids exposed to non-cis based information. Also not wanting sexual related material in their elementary libraries. After all, most of the western world is still indoctrinated into the 1950s idea of family values. Well, at least they used to be until the early 2000s. Maybe the mid to late 90s?
I don’t think once a young person starts into their teens at say 12 or 6th grade, that it should be such a big deal. That’s about the time they start getting interested in sex, drugs, and rock and roll! Once a person is that age they should be free to learn about the world, not sheltered and coddled anymore. No one’s “going away” anytime soon. Such denials!
Go back 100 years and a 10 year old’s vocabulary, manners, and language skills were better than most aduts today! And by 6th to 8th grade knew as much as a mid level college student today. And were working.
Groups like that just want to push their agenda of moral righteousness. Western Christianity, as most religions, tell people they need to “be good” and “do what’s right”; in the eyes of their religion. That they should feel guilt and shame at every human thought and natural desire that doesn’t fall in line with the religion’s moral code.
These fall under the opinions of parenting. There will always be one group that hates another group. But any public library should carry ALL materials whether people like them or not. Like the internet, whereby now and for a long time, things are being removed and hidden by whoever’s opinion is controlling it. “You can’t learn that! It was a bad thing! Someone may/could/possibly use that information to do something “bad”!” or “We don’t like THOSE people, were removing any information about them!”
The attacks on the LGBTQ community are no different than the attacks on MAPs and now people going after the only safe outlet for MAPs; dolls. Facts don’t matter at all to these crusaders. Only whipping people into a mouth foaming frenzy of unfounded fear and moral outrage! It’s disgusting!
The real “Make America Great Again”.
This is something I have always felt. Children can’t consent but they shouldn’t be treated like stupid people. They should know the reality of things and know how the world works. I myself didn’t had my parents supervision and knew world’s evil since I was a little kid, I was never “innocent”. I lost my innocence completely at 13 and honestly, I don’t ever want to get it back honestly. Reality sucks but it’s cool on it’s own unique way. A 12 year old should know what an LGBT+ person is. When you shelter children you are not protecting them from world’s evil, after all how do you protect someone from evil if they don’t even know what is evil? You are protecting your personal image of innocence that you believe they should have. It’s not going to have any good outcomes.
In my country plenty of people oppose sex education because of that, which is stupid. They don’t want to protect children, they want to protect their morals! And I also find it hypocrite because it only applies to girls, some people praise a 12 year getting raped by prostitutes.
Also hate it. People shame normal things such as masturbation and wet dreams, these things are normal! Masturbation is so natural that there were even cases in which INFANT girls did it because it felt pleasurable. I don’t doubt that other animals do it as well. Sexual urges and fantasies are ok and natural. You cannot stop what is natural. I have looked at erotic content (Hentai, stories, songs, movies and etc) and read about sex since I was 11. You simply cannot stop people from having sexual fantasies and stop teenagers from being curious about sex. It’s only nature after all.
