It’s unconstitutional.
It’s no more normal for one to ascribe human rights to a doll than it is for one to expect for a doll to eat breakfast.

It’s like trying to get people that are disturbed about monkeys eating bananas, to understand why monkeys like eating bananas. It’s incomprehensible to them. All they see it as are monkeys needlessly killing bananas when they could eat other things. Or something like that?
“This bill places activities with a doll at a more serious level than crimes that involve real children being harmed,” Emily Gause, who represents the Washington Defense Attorney Association, said. “It’s just not proportional punishment.”
She is on the right track, but there should be no proportional punishment for owning a piece of plastic.
As usual there is no justification for the proposed law other than how prosecutor Dip Shit Brown feels about them.
I sent an email to the author of this article and stated the following:
In reference to your article on a bill which would prohibit child-like dolls, I noticed that there is no mention of dissenting opinions other than how harshly someone’s life should be destroyed for owning one.
There have been challenges to laws of this type that I feel should have been included in your article. Here are a few key points:
Thank you for your time and consideration of amending your article.
It’s because new things are extra scary. Real children being harmed is a timeless classic, but ~boooooh~ sexy plastic.
Yeah this law is unconstitutional as fuck. There is no obscenity clause, and it is overbroad as it is, encompassing anything anyone could interpret as a minor. So if I have a sex doll of an adult woman dressed like a child that is encompassed. No doll should be illegal.
I wonder what happened in this seemingly logical transition from 1 to 99?
Supporters of Guns & Gun Safety are not criminals. Ownership is not an inherent crime. But guns can be used to kill. LEGAL!
Car enthusiasts are not criminals. Usage is not a crime. But cars can kill. LEGAL!
Computer enthusiasts are not criminals. Usage is not a crime. But computers can be used to hack. LEGAL!
Kitchen enthusiasts are not criminals. Knife ownership is not a crime. But knives can be used to kill. LEGAL!
…
Cannabis users ARE criminals. Cannabis consumption IS a crime. AND it doesn’t kill anyone (unlike tobacco, which is OK and kills plenty) … BANNED!
Doll enthusiasts ARE criminals. Doll ownership IS a crime. AND there is no harm done to anyone … BANNED!
…
In conclusion, this is purely an emotional and personal vendetta. There is no logic, common sense, or rationality behind these propositions. Rather, these are evoked from fear, ignorance, pandering, and lobbying. 90% way through a recipe, it calls for a cup of sugar, and they deliberately add a cup of bleach instead. Seems like a massive “Fuck You” instead of anything useful. There’s no way to get this wrong accidentally.
Well. At least its nice to know its not just the Red States wanting to crack down on dolls. Politicians finally working together on a shared interest of unjust disgust? They are at least helping me update my “States to NOT Retire” list.

“We must put an end to these harmless activities.” - Stupid Politicians But You Can’t Call Them That
“This harmless activity is now illegal. We dare you to change it. Oh, that’s right. You won’t. Not without risking it all. [evil laughter]” - Evil Politicians But You Also Can’t Call Them That
This law will probably be enforced on a couple of poor saps, and then it will either get repealed, pr fall into desuetude.
Lets hope it dies in committees.
I hope lots of recent laws and proposals in America die. Fuck is happening in this country?
