There seems to be a new legislative trend of claiming that (fictional) consensual incest media eventually leads to child abuse or is a gateway drug to CSAM consumption.
Just recently the UK has banned all incest porn (including possession) as well as put it on the same level as CSAM in terms of punishment and level of danger in the online safety act.
Seemingly out of nowhere a German journalist team also just put out an investigation on how porn addiction is the primary reason for CSAM consumption and that the majority are not pedophiles, but just watching for the “thrill” and taboo. A therapist they question is stating that incest media has the potential of normalizing sex with your own child and seeing how such videos are popular make you wanna try it out. If you base your entire point on people with a problematic consumption then anything can and will look bad. How can people say stuff like that and then slaughter virtual people while laughing? It sounds absurd.
This is clearly an international and organized effort to get porn banned as much as possible.
I guess reasonable men and women shouldn’t be persuaded to moderate, or at the very least be skeptical of, matters such as this. After all, think of the children, right?
It’s not enough that the scientific and academic communities have yet to find a causal link between the use of outlets for one’s own sexual interests and the perpetration of sexual offenses. Dolls, virtual/fictional child pornography, etc. have yet to find a link.
Even CSAM consumption - though rightfully condemnable on the basis that it involves the use of a real minor - is not linked to subsequent contact abuse in those that consume it. In this instance, one could write off the dismissal of this factoid as focus on victimization. The systemic and economically-driven motive to continually exploit and abuse children is very persuasive, indeed.
But when that rhetoric becomes untethered to the necessity of an actual victim, fear and ignorance fill the gap that scientific/academic information would otherwise have filled.
No, apparently the vague concept of ‘deviance’, for its own sake, is being brought back into the public spotlight, and apparently the same arguments are being brought forward. Incest-related fantasies involving consenting adults, or even ‘step’ relations, no less, are being regarded as ‘deviant’ or ‘obscene’.
Like I said, in Oblivion, one of the assassination targets for the Dark Brotherhood is stated to be “no older than 15”. Now, if I can penetrate a girl that age with my steel dagger, I don’t see how penetrating her with my meat dagger is any worse. In both cases, probably several times over.
