A friend opened up to me about their experience. Without giving too many details, here’s what they told me:
They were born in 2002. Their drug-addicted father was sexually inappropriate with them from an early age, sharing sex toys, showing them bestiality porn and gore videos, and bringing them with him on visits to prostitutes (even offering him “sloppy seconds” at one point ).
The child started molesting their 6yo sister at the age of 13, and this continued until they were 9 and 15 respectively. It was around that time that it stopped, but their father suffered a really bad high and hallucinated/dreamt it happened again when they were 16 and attacked with a knife. That’s when police were finally called and got involved.
Despite being a minor themselves (and not even being having done anything this time), they were charged as an adult and placed on the registry for life, while also ordered “no contact” with their sister for the rest of their life. Their entire family, especially their hypocrite father, turned against the kid and offered no support.
Now, as an adult, they can only live isolated in a cabin in the woods with an ankle bracelet on at all times. They are not allowed to live near schools or even visit libraries!
Every sex offender therapist they’ve talked to side with them, saying they were treated unfairly by the state due to their childhood circumstances of being exposed to sex so early. Even so, the state will not life these restrictions placed upon them.
I obviously cannot confirm if any details are false or being excluded, but assuming all this to be true, I am filled with rage and sorrow for this person. I know my ranting will do nothing to help them, but I needed to vent.
