Correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t that what lobotomy was supposed to accomplish and why it was abandoned (for the most part anyway)?

Here’s a quote from António Egas Moniz, the guy who “developed the surgical procedure lobotomy”, from 1937:

The hypotheses underlying the procedure might be called into question; the surgical intervention might be considered very audacious; but such arguments occupy a secondary position because it can be affirmed now that these operations are not prejudicial to either physical or psychic life of the patient, and also that recovery or improvement may be obtained frequently in this way.

It should be noted that Moniz received the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1949 for the “discovery of the therapeutic value of leucotomy (lobotomy) in certain psychoses”. So much for that, huh?

I could see someone say something like this if a “cure” for pedophilia was discovered.

Yup. Lobotomy was intended to cure all kinds of disorders: delusions, obsessions, stress, etc. And it worked as intended!

…But only because the procedure is literally just induced brain damage. It cures all disorders, but robs you of your entire mind in the process. Cruel and unusual, and a dark stain on the history of medicine.

I’ve seen my fair share of folks advocating for lobotomizing pedophiles, though usually with a bullet (which is a LOT messier)…

This might be worth mentioning, I’ve been trying to do this with lolis instead. While I can’t look at lolicon, there are alternatives and I am able to fantasize about it. Though, I guess this shouldn’t come off as a surprise if you’ve read my first post.

I’d prefer to distract myself with lolis than anything done to harm real children.

You might want to learn to use Tor. There are sites there, that do not involve real children, but include lolicon and shotacon. Depending on your tastes. The Tor network helps you navigate them with less observability from your government oversight. Use with care.

I don’t really get this mentality.

Loli’s illegal where I live. Never stopped me.

It’s legal where I live, but I wouldn’t let that stop me either. Some laws need to be disobeyed. But be prepared for the consequences if caught.

I’ve used Tor before, but I don’t usually use it, mainly because it loads pages slowly and some sites don’t seem to work. Also, I’m worried about getting caught viewing lolicon (I know that the government can’t really see what I’m looking at, but they might be able to see which site I’m going on).

What about ProtonVPN? I’ve never used it before, but I hesitate a bit to use it because they operate under Switzerland law (which prohibits lolicon). They claim that they don’t log user activity though, so it might be worth it.

Either way, as long as I’m careful as to what I’m doing, I think I might be okay.

You want to anonymize your web search to the greatest possible extent. Yes, Tor is abysmally slow. A VPN is a good extra defense as well. Everything you can do to keep nosey busybodies from tracking you is appropriate. Just stay away from real CSEM.
