This was suppose to be a general rule, not an absolute. It’s something to describe consensual sex between aged-gap adults, same sex couples, LGBTQI relationships. Nothing to do with child abuse dolls.

If you are using a doll that looks so like a literal elementary school age child you are harming others. I don’t get why this is hard to understand.
Yet no link between someone using on of the dolls on their own in the privacy of their own home, and harm to real children. Once you’ve demonstrated such a link I’ll be more open to your ideas, but you and your friends have yet to do so.

You’re conflating democracy with majoritarianism, which is more akin to populism and “mob rule” than anything else. Just because the majority may disagree doesn’t mean they’re right.
It was this approach that allowed slavery, Jim Crow, and the oppression of the LGBT community. Minorities have a right to exist, and your prejudices don’t justify what is tantamount to unjustified prohibition and oppression.
Nobody has to agree that pedophilia is right, good, or otherwise welcome. However, we must be able to agree that distaste for it shouldn’t be what guides, justifies, or dictates policy.
Also it’s not a few “fringe” intellectuals. Unbiased scientific research on the topic does and relevant subject matter simply doesn’t support criminalizing the child sex dolls that do not resemble actual children.

Chie is right. The sensitivity that our critics have about pedophilia reveals a deep fear and insecurity about it. All that we are trying to do is to can counter that fear with science. Because pedophilia has been characterized as Satanic in the QAnon belief system (a very literal “folk devil”), it offers a very simple explanation for the phenomenon of child sexual abuse. It’s much easier to believe that explanation, than to realize that child sexual abuse, and pedophilia, are both complex and nuanced subjects. If only it was as simple as equating one to the other, preventing child sexual abuse would be very simple. But it isn’t, and their irrational rage towards an organization that promotes an evidence-based approach to these topics is very telling.

We didn’t come to this forum to discuss random folk tales. Yes we have very loose affiliations with QAnon movement. But one need not be in Q in order to know how fucked up a child sex doll AKA child rape simulator is. I’d rather release a convicted murderer than release someone in prison for possessing these “dolls”.

They’re dolls. They’re not real. They are harmless. The people who consume them for masturbatory and therapeutic purposes are not likely to commit hands-on offenses, as the variables which dictate that are not related to sexual orientation. We have valid scientific data to back this up.
Prostasia is a child sexual abuse prevention organization which bases its positions on strong scientific evidence, not moralistic extremism and state-mandated stigma. Pedophilia is a fact of life, albeit an unfortunate one for many people. These people have a right to explore and understand their sexuality in a healthy, safe, and legal way. Who are we to deny them that right?
Child sexual abuse is a serious crime with horrific ramifications for the victims, many of whom grow up to have a pedophilic sexual interest themselves. These people benefit greatly from the work Prostasia does, which isn’t limited to the social and legal advocacy related to sex dolls and fictional pornography.
A child sex doll is no different than any other sex toy, including adult sex toys. Criminalizing sex dolls will only further stigmatize and harm innocent individuals who’ve committed no wrongdoing, aside from being themselves. The argument that child sex dolls incite or “normalize” abuse is horrifically flawed because it assumes that persons who are at risk of committing such offenses won’t just feed into their desires in some other way, either with adult pornography or by using their thoughts. This is why the DSM-5 differentiates pedophilic disorder from a merely candid sexual interest, orientation, or fetish related to minors or youthfulness. The former make up a significant minority of pedophiles, and just about every paper on the subject will admit that they won’t go on to commit contact offenses with children and that having an outlet has been shown to reduce the commission of these offenses.

Yes, yes, yes—Prostasia is an organization that is really working on the long-game. A lot of our actions will take decades to show up as advancements in mainstream opinion & law, but that just makes the necessity for a rational, science-based advocacy group that works to tackle all of these issues now, more urgent.

I will tell you what. If I had to choose between releasing a convicted premeditated murderer or releasing someone caught with these dolls, I would release the murderer without a second thought. Nah, If prisons are full, I would be more willing to release murderers before those with these dolls. I would trust a convicted murderer to look after my nieces and nephews before I trust anyone with these horrible evil tools.

I mean, you could very much punish both, no one forces you to choose, but you still would release a child murderer, and give your nieces and nephews to him, instead of taking responsibility for taking care of your family by yourself as a responsible human being. Okay.
