PLEASE stop trying to legalize child sex dolls

Distasteful perhaps. Hideous? Why?

I like how this person seems to be offended by child sex dolls, but had the n word 3 times in his profile.

Wow… just… wow.

No information on sexualization but I’m in awe at the fact that someone lived that long.

Imagine thinking you, someone who knows nothing about pedophilia aside from what society has told you (the same society that said all gay people were pedophiles a few years ago), are somehow more educated in a discussion than people who study this for a living.
If you want to help victims then you should stay out of this conversation. Making a mess… well… just makes a mess, which is NOT what this issue needs any more of right now.

Some one should aslo tell him that america is not a “Democracy” its a constitutional republic.

No proof he’s american but no one else brags about that kind off stuff.

people who consume them for masturbatory and therapeutic purposes are not likely to commit hands-on offenses, as the variables which dictate that are not related to sexual orientation

What are the variables related to?

Non-risk-aversive personality traits, aggressive personality, general impulsivity, lack of empathy, general psychosocial pathology.

Essentially the same traits you find in those at risk of perpetrating non-consensual or aggressive sexual acts against adults, as well as general criminality. Merely being pedophilic matters insofar as it identifies a preferential characteristic, typically for those who are naturally vulnerable to coercion, manipulation, and force, though, those specific preferences aren’t limited to merely people who are pedophilic.

It’s not morally relevant for one to feel more protective of a doll than of a broom.

There’s nothing morally relevant or harmful to punish for.

The anti doll narratives frame doll use as though doll use were narcotics.

Failing to feel more protective of any doll than of a broom cannot logically be thought to indicate a willingness to harm.

For sure, seeking to punish for what happens to an object one could hand to a dog as a chew toy without consequence is loony.

It’s moralism, nothing more. They feel offended and scared, they lack the emotional and intellectual discipline to stop and say “what if I’m wrong?” and even less to actually look into it. It’s disgusting.

I’m late to this thread but I just wanted to say that things are legal until they are made illegal, not the other way around.

The burden of proof, or perhaps more accurately the burden of explanation lies on those who want to, or purport some necessity to render a thing/action illegal, not on those who have not experienced any such want or seen any such necessity. The answer to the question of why dolls should remain legal is simply “I have been given no compelling arguments and evidences for why they should be illegal”. If you believe there are in fact compelling arguments and evidence @meiling and @dopeko , it’s on you to do the leg work and provide those, not on us to refute your bald assertions with sound argument and research while you twiddle your thumbs.

Boohoo, your feelings. Shall I list all the real life porn actresses who can pass for under 18?

Why? Explain your reasoning.
Are all cars abominable because a few people have used them to run over innocent people?
I know someone who was run over by a car, on purpose, therefore I find cars offensive! Cars should be outlawed!!

Look. Let’s be honest. People, like keyrock, are not rational animals. They are rationalizing animals. They start off from their feelings of ick and then emotionally plead why others should avoid hurting those feelings.
