I do feel somewhat bad for these puritanical hypocrite types. It’s obvious that their extremist views are born of self-loathing. I saw this one preacher on TikTok who’s cartoonishly homophobic and transphobic and anti-porn. He admits to having been horribly addicted to hardcore gay and trans porn before he found God, and now he’s on a crusade to repent for his own temptations by attacking LGBT people and forcing them back into the closet. It’s incredibly tragic what this level of self-hatred can turn a person into, and how this despising of the self can be turned around and projected onto innocent people. Just a sad situation all around. Speaking from experience.

Abrahamic religions feed off of a need for “repentance”. I can’t empathize because I never felt that way. I barely know what it is.
