Reviews for our newsletter

Some time ago we put out a suggestion for things we could review for our newsletter, which turned into a short thread on Twitter:

We sometimes review (and even hold public screenings) of provocative media so that we can discuss what they mean for child protection. What should we review or screen next?

I want to extend that into a forum thread. What are some films, TV shows, books, manga, games, or other media that we should review that have some relevance to our mission? Here are few that we are already thinking about:

  • 50 Shades of Grey
  • Gerald’s Game
  • American Beauty
  • Oryx and Crake
  • Shut Up and Dance (Black Mirror episode)
  • Empathy (The Good Doctor episode)

Are you interested in reviewing any of these for us? Or do you have other suggestions for what should be reviewed? Please add to this thread with your ideas.

Is this because of the topless Thora Birch scene?

Because if so, other things come to mind like Pretty Baby (1978) or Innocence (2004).

As for books, there’s the uncensored copies of the 1906 novel Josephine Muzenbacher.

It has more to do with the story than the scene. We did talk about Pretty Baby here.

Ah, so about the fact that Lester wants to have sex with Angela.
