I do agree with you that FOSTA does seem to be a bit of a menace to society. Unfortunately I’m not in the U.S. myself, so there is little I can really do about it, but the repercussions have gone beyond it.
What is the best way to go about getting the thing repealed?

If the lawsuit fails then frankly having the law repealed is a long shot in the current environment. Lawmakers do not have the courage and none of the current crop of Presidential candidates are behind a repeal (except possibly Mike Gravel, can anyone confirm?).
