It honestly depresses me how people are so against lolicon and shotacon. Its literally not harming anyone. Yeah yeah it can be misused by groomers or exposed to unconsenting people. But just because something can be misused it doesnt mean it is bad. I am just tired of people conflating pedophilia as an attraction with actual sexual abuse. All these arguments about hedonic treadmills and normalization are a bunch of hooey and nonsense. I just hate how people are so okay with controlling people’s thoughts and dehumanizing them. It just makes me really sad and I wish people could understand that fiction is harmless and that we can still protect children while allowing those materials. It just feels so hopeless sometimes.

It depends where you live. Nobody really cares from my own experience. I am registered under many sites with a clear lolicon name and people either find it funny, or do not care.
They know the absurdity. It is different in places where there is no anime culture, or it has been illegal since the last couple of generations existed. Hearing “CP” is an immediate throwoff for many. They have no reference to how lolicon looks like and the constellations it can manifest in; true loli, lolibaba etc.
It is really dependant on the culture and exposure to it, but also the censorship a nation suffered before. Australia/Russia etc. grew up with constant state surpression of speech, so they are used to it.

Japan has a culture of lolicon/shotacon/anime and if someone’s into that so be it. Everyone is free to enjoy what they enjoy. They don’t get ostracized as they do in western countries. For people that don’t care for it or think it’s weird, they don’t go after it like the witch hunts in the west do with these moral crusaders and “protect the children” white knight glory hounds!
All the while child abuse especially in the foster care system and child sex trafficking have yet to be put in the spotlight and dealt with according to the same vigor as lolicon/shoticon/anime and now especially dolls. Imaginary fantasies that don’t involve real people at all yet are looked upon as “tools for grooming”.
Once again for the 175h time, cars, guns, kitchen knives, and violent video games; similarly NOT treated as all tools for the training of criminals and violent behavior. They tried conflating violent video games for a time. That was never true. And neither are dolls a training ground for predators. Predators existed long before dolls. So did murder, long before guns and knives.
It’s Puritanism culture (false religions (all of them)) and thought policing that are the real problem. All control systems that a certain faction has pushed for and promoted for centuries.
