After indefinetly post-poning the final vote on the 18th of December they have adopted it on the 23th of December.
It is an awful convention, but what I find interesting is Article 14:
For the purposes of this article, the term “child sexual abuse or child sexual
exploitation material” shall include visual material, and may include written or audio
content, that depicts, describes or represents any person under 18 years of age
Member states have to explicitly exclude fictional material (Art. 14, Paragraph 2), or else it is illegal. Especially in cases where the law mentions “child pornography” without defining what it includes other than saying “child”.
A State Party may require that the material identified in paragraph 2 of this
article be limited to material that:
(a) Depicts, describes or represents an existing person;
